ALETSCH GLACIER

This glacier is the largest of the Alps. Located in the “vallée de Conches”, it is more than twenty kilometres long. It is, for that matter, registered on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 2001.

RACLETTE OF VALAIS

Typical recipe from Valais, the « raclette » received its AOC in 2003. This dish is made by scraping off the melted part of the cheese, previously heated, onto a plate. It is usually accompanied by potatoes, gherkins and pickled onions.

CERVIN

Alpine peaks located at the border between Switzerland and Italy, the Cervin (“Matterhorn” in German) is a globally well-known symbol, especially for its almost perfect pyramidal shape. It is regularly used for promotional purposes by Swiss brands.

TOURBILLON & VALÈRE

Overlooking Sion, the capital of the Canton, these two castles are located on two hills facing each other. They are an integral part of the historical heritage of the city and attract a lot of tourists every year.

COW FIGHTING

Traditional Valais event in which cows of the “Hérens” race fight each others in duels. Very popular, this spectacular show is a well structured competition and the finals attract many spectators.
